So, this is another weekly segment I decided would be informative and worthy of having its own day of the week for posts.
I’d like to share the costs I paid and comparisons to full value of the items I wore for What Knot Wednesday’s previous day’s installment.
Without further ado, here is Installment #1 of Thrifty Thursday.
Yesterday I wore a silk tie, white shirt, light gray vest and a pair of dark gray trousers.
A break-down of the costs:
Tie: $1.99
Vest: $22.00 (on sale)
Pants: $19.99 (Arrow brand from Sear’s)
Shirt: $17.50 (Stafford brand from JC Penny’s)
Total: $61.49
Normally the prices would be:
Tie: $20.00
Vest: $35.00 (on sale)
Pants: $39.99 (Arrow brand from Sear’s)
Shirt: $35.00 (Stafford brand from JC Penny’s)
Total: $129.99
I paid less than half of the “normal” prices.
I do find a lot of good stuff at the thrift stores like Salvation Army and Goodwill. I have to look, but it’s worth it. I can get fresh from the cleaner’s pants and shirts for less than the price of the dry cleaning and laundering cost. Sometimes I’ll but a nice $60 retail value shirt for $7, take it to the cleaners for the $1.99 laundering service and had spent $9 for it.
I look forward to sharing next week’s cost break-downs for the What Knot Wednesday ensemble.
Be sure to share this – or any other post. The more the merrier I always say, and someone else might find the information helpful. So be helpful: please subscribe and share.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week!
