You know, I’m a morning person – just am. But for some reason this Monday was a different story.
I’ve been feeling kind of crappy for a little bit and this past weekend was the worst of it, but by Monday (5:30 am) morning I was still feeling the residuals of the sickness. Guess I caught it from my grandson.
At any rate, the whole waking up late, feeling crappy when I did, and taking an extra hot/extra hot shower made me late for work. I think many people would agree that since my boss is in Houston and they let me work in Austin for the convenience it shouldn’t matter too much to be a little late sometimes.
True dat. But, I loathe being late. I loathe other people being late, or when I am made to be late by others. So, I’m under the “do unto others…” philosophy.
IT’S JUST BAD MANNERS to disregard other people’s feelings and time limitations to run late without a legitimate reason for it. Checking email, having an extra cup of coffee, forgetting about the time and letting it “slip away” from, are not legitimate reasons.
I believe, however, there is an unspoken force majeure clause for every tardiness that can be applied legitimately. Flat tire, bad traffic (if it truly was bad), work was busy, to name a few. Totally out of control.
There is only one true way – and it doesn’t always work – to be forgiven for this manner malfunction: ask for forgiveness sincerely. But, realize that sometimes things happen that just cannot be helped.
As such, this is me asking for forgiveness for posting this 8 days late. I claim force majeure due to work load as work is when I write this when I am bored due to lack of work. But this last couple of weeks I’ve been truly busy. I’m sorry my own personal goal of getting the blog posts out in a timely fashion has been, to say the least, sporadically met.
Please do unto others, and forgive me.
