Yesterday was a very special day for me!  Last week somebody in my office asked, “do you ever wear bow ties?”  I admitted that I had not, but considered it a challenge.

So, I took my butt over to Macy’s and picked up a couple determined that I would learn how to tie it myself. No pussy pre-tied bow ties for me!  It was good that I went to Macy’s because they were 1/2 off so, I bought 2 – which was still $50.

So, I took my wares home and tried to tie it without any help and believe me when I tell you that is more difficult than you might think.  But I found this very helpful video and thought I would share with you were I got the directions It’s from the “Gentleman’s Gazette” YouTube channel and I suggest you subscribe – lots of helpful videos.

At any rate, I received TONS of compliments yesterday – even more so when I told them I had tied it myself, which apparently is very impressive, and we all know how impressions work.

I wore it with an awesome Daniel Cremieux vest with a faint blue plaid front. It’s hard to tell in the picture, so I found this picture of it online:

I actually found a really nice pair of Stacy Adams medium blue linen pants that matched so perfect that it seemed DC and SA collaborated on the this.

This may be on it’s way to becoming one of my favorite spring/summer casual wear.
