A little dreary here in Austin today. Overcast and just blehk in general. I bet there’s an old Country song titled ” Gray Skies Always Make Me Blue.”

At any rate – and on a brighter note – today is Friday and that alone makes it FABULOUS! As I’m trying to figure out a general format for this blog, it occurred to my OCD self that I could have a theme for every day of the week. For example: “What Knot Wednesdays.” Check it out if you haven’t already.

So, since this is Friday I am going to close the working week by discussing all of the FABULOUS things that happened this week. Don’t get me wrong, crappy stuff happens every week as well, but dwelling on that crap is depressing. I prefer to be a little more cheerful.

Monday – March 20, 2017

On Monday, I went to the VA clinic and had my hearing checked and hearing aids ordered. Okay, okay. Some of you people are saying “How is that fabulous?”

Well, for one thing, the hearing test was FREE.  Secondly, they audiologist fitted me for the hearing aids – which also happen to also be FREE.  And lastly – and the most important – is I will be able to hear better.

So, yeah, Monday was pretty fabulous!

Tuesday – March 21, 2017

Well, this day was absolutely the best day all week.

First, I got to skip school (work) that day. Second, I got to spend it with my absolute favorite guy (my 5-year old grandson) visiting the state Capitol here in Texas. Third, I got to lounge on the couch when we got home because he was down and out for a nap when we got home.

I also got to go hang out with my sister whom I adore and is a cherished friend as well.

Tuesday was tops in my book!

Wednesday – March 22, 2017

The thing about Wednesdays is three-fold:  It is “What Knot Wednesday;” group therapy, and “Whacky Wednesday” at the Salvation Army.  All clothes are HALF-PRICE.  I love to dress well and sometimes I can find really great stuff for cheap, and THEN it is half price to boot.

“What Knot Wednesday” is always a pleasurable part of the week.  I love to pick out the clothes and the tie that goes perfect with it (that, I guess, is the *gasp* feminine side of me coming out).

Group on the other hand is always a toss-up.  This week it wasn’t too terrible.  So, that was fabulous!

I found a really nice bright-white Calvin Klein dress shirt at the Salvation Army.  It look like it may have been worn once and it had been to the cleaners because the laundry tag was still on it. I paid $2.25 for what cost at least $60 full price. SCORE!

Thursday – March 23, 2017

It was unusual this week that I was able to sit on the couch with my grandson AND mother-in-law and watch the “Minions” movie – but it was also AWESOME!

I also got paid!  Every other Thursday is like Christmas when I open up my handy-dandy mobile bank app on my phone and see that deposit sitting in there.  It’s one of those “awwwweeee” moments!

Pretty darn good Thursday if you ask me!

Friday – March 24, 2017

Here it is! Friday, the final day of the work week and what can be anymore FABULOUS than not only being casual, but half-days as well!!!!

Well, let me tell you, having dinner with the absolute best boss I ever had and the absolute best girlfriend (who is now my wife) is giving casual Friday’s a run for it’s money in the FABULOSITY contest.

 

So, there you have it! Five straight days of greatness.  Sure, stupid crap happened, but it always does.  Just look at what you accomplished and enjoyed along the way, and enjoy the weekend knowing you have more good things coming next week!
