I’ve chosen Wednesdays as the day of the week that I will wear a tie to work.
So, I am going to post every week (probably not until the Thursday after) the tie I wore and the knot it is tied in.
Without further adieu, as you will note from the picture, the tie is black with a white diagonal stripe that is bordered on each side with thinner blue lines. I don’t think you can tell the full detail in this picture. I may start taking a picture of just the tie as well as showing it being worn.
The knot happens to be my all-time favorite: the Double Windsor. For me, what sets it apart from all of the rest is the symmetry that is created when correctly tied. The more narrow the tie, the more compact the knot will be and vice-verse for wider ones.
The tie alone is nice, but without an ensemble to go with it, it’s just a tie.
My first post was about style, so you can gather my own personal style from the clothes I am wearing in the picture.
Favorite Shirt: white, with normal collar spacing
Favorite Type of Tie: more on the narrow side, but not too skinny
Paired with: a smart zip-up or cardigan sweater, or vests
Not Shown in Picture
Trousers: color-coordinated, which is why I love white shirts: they go with everything
Shoes: Appropriate color for the pants. I like oxfords that are either plain, wing-tipped, or capped-toe. I have also starting wearing these smart ankle-boots that are black, capped-toe.
BELT AND SHOE COLOR MUST MATCH
As I continue this blog, I will talk more about these things in more depth.
So, stay tuned and don’t forget to “Like” and or share.
Happy Dressing!
